Rangers Roll Past Edmonds, Turn Focus to Rivalry Showdown
The Olympic College women's basketball team delivered a strong, controlled performance Wednesday night, earning a convincing home victory over Edmonds College in NWAC action at the Bremer Student Center. The Rangers set the tone early, built separation through defensive pressure and ball movement, and maintained control throughout to secure the win.
Olympic was led by Cesaria Pelagio, who made her presence felt on both ends of the floor. Pelagio finished with 14 points, three rebounds, two assists, and four steals, providing constant energy defensively while pushing the pace and converting timely baskets to keep the Rangers in rhythm.
Inside, Ollie Decker anchored the paint with a strong two-way effort, posting 14 points, seven rebounds, and three blocks. Decker controlled the glass, altered shots defensively, and finished efficiently around the basket as Olympic steadily extended its lead.
The Rangers also benefited from the high-energy play of Kanzas Mills, whose effort off the ball showed up in timely rebounds, smart assists, and a relentless motor that helped sustain momentum during key stretches. Mills' activity helped Olympic maintain tempo and pressure while keeping Edmonds from mounting any sustained response.
Olympic's depth, defensive discipline, and balanced approach were evident throughout the night as the Rangers forced turnovers, limited second-chance opportunities, and shared the workload across the lineup.
Olympic now turns its attention to a major rivalry matchup, hosting Skagit Valley College next Wednesday at the Bremer Student Center. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m., and the Rangers will look to carry this momentum into a key conference showdown.
