Rangers Pull Away from Everett for Conference Home Win
The Olympic College women's basketball team continued its strong play in NWAC action Saturday afternoon, earning a convincing 79–57 victory over Everett Community College at the Bremer Student Center. The win improved the Rangers to 12–6 overall and 3–1 in conference play, while Everett fell to 4–14 overall and 0–4 in league action.
Olympic set the tone early and steadily built separation over four quarters, using balanced scoring and consistent defensive pressure to stay in control throughout the contest. After taking a 38–28 lead into halftime, the Rangers came out strong in the second half, extending the margin behind improved shooting and physical play in the paint.
Whitley Goble led the Rangers with 17 points, providing a spark offensively and knocking down timely perimeter shots. Nevaeh Thew orchestrated the offense with a composed all-around effort, finishing with 10 points and seven assists, while Carmayla Jackson added 10 points and was active on the glass. Olympic also benefited from strong interior play, with Ollie Decker and Nashayla Fellows combining to control the paint and limit Everett's second-chance opportunities.
Olympic's depth again proved to be a strength, as multiple players contributed on both ends of the floor. The Rangers finished with a clear edge in points in the paint and second-chance scoring, reflecting their physicality and effort across the lineup.
Olympic returns home on Wednesday, January 21, to host Bellevue College in another key conference matchup. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Bremer Student Center.
