Rangers Honor Three Sophomores in Final Home Match
Olympic College finished this season's home matches Friday night by celebrating sophomores Faith White, Shady Mayer, and Grace Mosco—three players who have been central to the program's growth and culture over the past two seasons. Despite a tough 3–0 loss to league-leading Edmonds (31–1, 11–0), the night centered on recognizing the trio's leadership, resilience, and contributions on and off the court.
Edmonds showed why it sits atop the NWAC North, taking the match 25–7, 25–17, 25–13 behind an efficient .393 team hitting percentage. Olympic (3–21, 2–10) responded with stretches of strong defense and long rallies, particularly in the second and third sets as the Rangers pushed back against the Tritons' attack.
Sophomore Haley Cassity led the offense with eight kills on .278 hitting, while Josie Shores added four kills off the bench in a spark role. Setter Ella Tallon distributed 16 assists and added four digs. Defensively, Olympic was anchored by Shady Mayer and Grace Mosco, each finishing with eight digs to tie for the team lead. Mayer also added two kills, working to slow Edmonds' powerful outside hitters.
On their sophomore night, all three honorees made meaningful contributions:
• Faith White recorded a kill and steadied the Rangers' serve-receive in all three sets.
• Shady Mayer battled in the front row with 23 swings while anchoring the defense.
• Grace Mosco provided steady ball control and three assists in her final home appearance.
Olympic closed its season at Skagit last Friday, able to carry the energy of Friday's celebration into the year's final match.
