Olympic faced a challenging home series against Columbia Basin College, dropping all four games but competing hard throughout the weekend and staying within reach in every contest. The Rangers continued to show growth on the mound and resilience at the plate, with multiple standout individual performances across the four games.
Saturday's opener was highlighted by an outstanding start from Silas Stenerson, who delivered exactly the kind of performance the Rangers needed to open the series. The right‑hander worked seven strong innings, allowing just three runs, only two earned, while striking out seven and limiting hard contact for most of the afternoon. Stenerson consistently worked ahead and kept Olympic within striking distance until late. Offensively, Tegan Jenkins, Seamus Brown, and Dominic Kaptur each collected hits as the Rangers worked to generate momentum against a tough Columbia Basin starter.
The second game on Saturday followed a similar script, with Olympic's pitching again keeping the game tight. Ethan Staples turned in a quality start, allowing only two runs, one earned, over seven innings while striking out six. Wyatt Robinson was dominant in relief, retiring all six batters he faced and striking out three over two scoreless innings. At the plate, Olympic scattered seven hits, with Yuji Imai, Ryan Hartnett, Seamus Brown, Dante Acacio, Dominic Kaptur, and Greyson Prichard all recording base hits in another low‑scoring battle.
Sunday's opener saw Olympic's offense break through with its most productive game of the series. The Rangers scored seven runs on ten hits, staying toe‑to‑toe with Columbia Basin throughout. Tegan Jenkins delivered a big performance, going 2‑for‑5 with three RBI, while Dominic Kaptur added two hits and an RBI from the leadoff spot. Seamus Brown drove in a run and finished with two hits, and Greyson Prichard went 2‑for‑3 with a run scored and an RBI. Matthew Butler sparked the lineup by scoring three runs, helping Olympic stay within one swing of tying the game late.
In the series finale, Olympic once again leaned on strong pitching to keep the game close. Bass Frye gave the Rangers a chance with five solid innings, allowing just one run while striking out seven. Seamus Gallagher followed with two scoreless innings in relief, and the Rangers stayed within striking distance until the final frames. Yuji Imai and Greyson Prichard recorded Olympic's hits, with Imai also doubling, as the Rangers continued to battle through each at‑bat despite a limited number of opportunities.
While the results didn't fall Olympic's way, the weekend reflected a team that continues to compete with intensity and confidence. Strong starting pitching, improved depth on the mound, and flashes of offensive firepower—particularly on Sunday—show the Rangers moving in the right direction as they continue their season.
